How to Create/Edit Custom Notifications on PaidHR

Ever wished you could keep just the right people in the loop? That's exactly what custom notifications are all about! It is used to keep specific individuals informed about important actions. It's particularly useful when you need to ensure that certain team members are notified about key events in your HR processes such as the creation, approval, or rejection of payroll.

This article will guide you on how to create and edit custom notifications. Follow these simple steps below :


How To Create Custom Notification

  • On the Menu, scroll down to Settings and click on the downward arrow to reveal the options.

  • Click on Approval workflows.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Manage custom notifications.

  • Look for Create custom notification in the top right corner, and click it to open the setup page.

  • Notification Type: choose the action you want to create a custom notification for.

  • Notification Stage: select when you want people to be notified. Remember, you can only pick one stage per setup.

  • Permissions: specify which roles should receive the notification. Need help with permissions? Just click here.

  • Click Finish to make your custom notification live.


How To Edit Roles Attached To A Custom Notification

  • On the Menu, scroll down to Settings and click on the downward arrow to reveal the options.

  • Click on Approval workflows.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Manage custom notifications.

  • Look for Create custom notification in the top right corner, and click it to open the setup page.

  • To make changes, find the custom notification you need, click the dotted lines (...) next to it, and choose Edit.

  • Choose the new roles that should receive this notification.

  • Click Finish to save your changes.


How To Disable A Custom Notification

  • On the Menu, scroll down to Settings and click on the downward arrow to reveal the options.

  • Click on Approval workflows.

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Manage custom notifications.

  • Look for Create custom notification in the top right corner, and click it to open the setup page.

  • Click on the dotted lines (...) beside the custom notification and select Disable

  • Click on Confirm to save your changes
